Wow! It’s actually been a year since I updated this blog

Yes were still alive!  However, instead of updating this blog, I’ve been sending updates to friends and family via Facebook. This to me is safer and more intimate because I know exactly who is looking at our photos and information.  So if you you are not one of the many family members that are on facebook, get an account and Search for Niels Hansen in California.  Then i’ll add you as a friend.  I’ll probably not  update this site anymore!  Its been a blast but I can only keep a few places updated. Until I get bored with Facebook, I doubt there will be much more to find on this site!

2006 Ducks Hockey Game

I almost got bit by a rattle snake

I was on the phone in the late afternoon and I decided to walk outside to talk since I’ve been inside all day without a break.

When I was walking, (with no shoes on) I stopped at the end of my porch for some reason. I looked down and I saw something out of place. I took a second look and I jumped back about 5 feet to the base of the door. It was a rattle snake!!!! And it was huge! I quickly got the camera and took some photos of it. After it saw me, it went away from the house and over to my car.

After the snake realized there was no where to go, it came back into the yard and then went in between our house and the neighbors! We have this huge field behind us so that is probably where it came from.

I tell you, I’ve never been so freaked out!!

We finally moved into our new house

Well we have not offically moved in, but I signed all the paper work and got the keys on Friday! This weekend I did a lot of painting. However it seems like we did not get a lot of rooms finished. The dining walls sucked up a ton of paint. We actually had to go get another gallon of paint to finish the walls.

When we get it all done, I will take some photographs on the house.

Now this is the best keyword yet for hansenfamily.net

I was going through the keywords on my other other web site to see what keywords people entered into google to find my site. I decided to check the stats for my hansenfamily.net site. This one jump out at me:

“what did niels hansen do for canada”

LOL. This is too funny!

So I did a search for this results in Google! Guess what? I have 3 of the 4 top results.

Check it out here!

So what did I do for Canada? hmmm…..NOTHING! I left that place long ago and never looked back when I was 14 years old. Don’t get me wrong I love Canada and 98% of my family live up there (well more like 95% with the recent birth of my new Nephew), but my alliances and loyality is 100% behind the United States of America and I consider this my home and would defend it with my life.

So maybe the Google search should have been : What will Niels Hansen do for the United States! :)

Uncle (brother) Don and Aunte Mandy had their baby!

On June 23rd,2005 at around 4:30 AM in the morning my brother Don and his wife Mandy had their first child.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning came VERY early this year!

Megan was so ready on Christmas eve that she could not sleep all night. Well at the first chance, (which happened to be 5 AM!) she got up and ran downstairs. It was still dark outside and she said that all she could see was this blue glowing light. That was enough to spark her curiosity! She ran down there only to find that Santa had left her and Madeline their very own computer!

When Mark came downstairs, he found out that Santa had left him the Millenum Falcon! Which he calls “Han Solo’s Ship”. He was so excited!! What’s funny is that before Uncle Don and Aunt Mandy went up to Canada for the holidays, they had given him an X-Wing and Tie Fighter for christmas. Needless to say, that has become his favorite toy. For the last 2 days he has had that x-wing with him the whole time. (Even when we went to the grocery store!)

Maloree received a Guitar from Santa! She has wanted one of those since Uncle Adam was here staying with us! God help us because I have no idea how to play it and its only a matter of time before she asks me how to play a song! :)

I posted the images of the kids opening the gifts they got from Santa and Mom and Dad!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas everyone!

This year we all went over to my siter-in-law’s for Christmas. They bought a new house that is about 15 mins from where we live. We all had a great time and the kids really got lucky this year.

Uncle Sean was there with Shadow, Papa and Grandma were out from Wyoming. We also had a new member join the party this year: Roxi the dog! Grandma has a new puppy!

I have posted the images in the gallery!

Merry Christmas!

Halloween

Take a look at this year’s Halloween pictures. I took the kids over to Tracee and Craig’s new house to go trick or treating. It was nice having halloween on a sunday for a change. As we all know we also had daylight savings time kick in on Sunday so it got darker much quicker than usual. (At least it seemed that way). The kids made out like bandits with all the candy they received! The neighborhood where Tracee and Craig live is brand new and when you have new houses that usually means that most of the people have kids. More kids = more houses open for business!.

Enjoy the images!
